I'm a fan of Thank You for Arguing, so I was excited to give this book a read. I'm not a cat person, but the cat imagery was not lost on me. I feel like there is enough to keep students interested in a very introductory lesson in rhetoric. There are general ideas about argument and rhetoric, and there are some specifics like tenses and decorum. My son, in middle school and with limited knowledge or understanding of the topic, said he really learned a great deal about argument from the book. How to Argue with a Cat does appear best fit as an introduction that has broken concepts into smaller, more digestible chunks perfect for students in lower grades.
